Welcome to a year in the life.
In Autumn of 2004 I was working in a comfortable but stagnant nine-to-five office job in my one-horse hometown of 26 years. I was terminally single with no prospects on the horizon to change that status any time soon. In short, I was stuck in a rut.
So one weekend I went shopping, and somehow managed to return with a Round the World ticket.
I handed in my resignation the following week, and three months later I was stepping off a plane in Japan, bound for the heady neon lights of Tokyo, my first stop on a fabulous yearlong backpacking experience through Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
I never looked back once. It was the most memorable, fun-packed year of my life - so how could I possibly keep it to myself?
This site documents the day-to-day diary I kept whilst backpacking on the road. The sights. The sounds. The feelings. The people. The loves. The laughs.
So dip in and have a read, and I sincerely hope what you discover within will inspire you to travel.
